The Tools That You Need:

• Tape measure

How to Measure Rounded and Arched Windows

Measure the width on the window’s flat bottom. Measuring only the window opening, record to the closest ⅛ of an inch the width of the arch. For the height, find the halfway point of the window by dividing the width distance in two, then measure to the top of the window from that point. Again, record to the closest ⅛ of an inch.

How to Measure Elongated Arch Windows for Shutters

Elongated arch windows look like a combination of a rectangular window and a circular window, with a flat, wide bottom and vertical “legs,” but with rounded top edges and a higher arch. So think of it exactly as that: a rectangle and an arch combined. Get the width measurement like you would any other arched window, then take a measurement of the height of the legs (the straight vertical parts before the window curves into an arch). Next, find the window’s maximum length from the middle of the width, minus the leg height. Again, record all of these to the closest ⅛ of an inch.
